Rams shoot down Bruins

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Men's volleyball got back on the winning track with a three set non-conference win over Carolina University, Wednesday evening. The Rams dominated in the 25-21, 25-10, 25-16 match.
Tony Martin led the way for Bluefield College with 18 assists and a pair of aces. Jariel Diaz had 11 kills and Devon Robinson had six kills and four aces. Colby Mutter was strong with 11 digs.
"I think we had a lot of energy at practice yesterday and it carried over into tonight's match," said Bluefield College head coach Alfonso Alvarez. "We didn't like how we play on Monday and we had a long discussion about it at practice and we came into tonight ready to get back on track.
"I think we had a few student-athletes contribute at a high level for us. Jariel Diaz had a great night at the net. Tony Martin and Devon Robinson were a force to recon with on the serving line. Those were the three big-time players for us."
The Rams travel to Campbellsville, Ky., this weekend for a Mid-South Conference POD. They take on Truett McConnell and Warner on Friday, and finish with St. Andrews on Saturday.
