BU women win battle between Rams

BLUEFIELD -  Kylie Meadows dropped in 22 points and Jadyn Hoover had her Bluefield University scoring high of 17 points to lead the BU Rams to a 75-72 win over the Columbia International University Rams in Appalachian Athletic Conference competition Thursday night at the Dome Gymnasium.
The contest was close throughout with neither team holding more than a six-point lead at any time during the game. BU led 36-35 at halftime. CIU took a six-point advantage with 4:45 left in the game, but BU battled back and Meadows' three put Bluefield on top by a point, 65-64. CIU tied the game and BU retook the lead with a minute left on a pair of Destiny Long free throws. CIU closed to within a point at 73-72 with 4.6 seconds left, but the BU Rams closed out and gained the victory.
