Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Women fall late to Union

BLUEFIELD - Women's basketball stood toe-to-toe with the second place team in the Appalachian Athletic Conference for 37 minutes, but in the end fell to the Union Bulldogs 61-48 Tuesday evening at the Dome Gymnasium.
The game was a battle from the outset as both teams held the lead and neither team pulling ahead by more than five points. At the end of the first period the Rams led 15-14, and then carried a 31-28 lead into the locker room. Union retook the lead in the third and led 45-42 heading to the fourth quarter. It was a six-point game with three minutes to play when Union went on a spurt for the final 13-point margin of victory.
Emily Breeding had her BC career high in scoring with 16 points, including four-of-four three-point shots. Tianna Crockett finished with 10 points, and Kylie Meadows had a game-high 14 rebounds to go with her nine points.
Union's Brooke Hammonds led all scorers with 21 points. She also pulled down 12 rebounds.
