BLUEFIELD - Women's soccer had to work extra Saturday afternoon in their season opener. After 90 minutes of play the Rams and Columbia College were knotted at one apiece. In the second overtime period with just over eight minutes to play and the 102nd minute of the game, CC scored to gain a 2-1 victory.
After a scoreless first half Columbia drew first blood with a goal in the 46th minute by Brianna Sandoval. Bluefield drew even when Cynthia Brown, playing for the first time in two seasons, found the back of the net to make it 1-1. It remained scoreless the remainder of regulation and in the first overtime period. Hannah Miller gave Columbia the win with a goal in the 102nd minute.
