BLUEFIELD - Cierra Cook had a season-high 28 points with five rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals, but it was not enough to hold off the charging Tigers of Brenau University who came from behind to top the Rams 85-82 in overtime Wednesday evening in AAC basketball at the Dome Gymnasium.
The Rams took early control of the game building an eight-point lead after the first quarter and leading 44-33 at halftime. Brenau slowly climbed back into the came in the second half and tied the game late in the fourth, forcing the extra period.
In overtime Brenau took the lead and did not relinquish and claimed the win.
Kianna Campbell came off the bench to score 16 for Bluefield.
Haley Turman had a team-high nine rebounds.
Nialla Curtis and
Tianna Crockett each scored nine points.
