Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Rams notch first win

BLUEFIELD – Men's basketball got its first win of the season and first conference victory of the year in its home opener 92-67 over St. Andrews University, Saturday afternoon at the Dome Gymnasium.
Omega Stitt put the Rams on the board with a three and Bluefield did not trail the rest of the game. The Rams opened a 14-4 lead as they controlled the boards at both ends of the court. A trey by Christian Bullock with 12:30 to play in the half gave the Rams a 19-4 advantage, and another trey by Keyshon Ingram made it 22-8.
Down by as many as 16, the Knights cut the Rams lead to 10, but BC went on a run to lead by 18 points with four minutes remaining in the opening half. The Rams carried a 47-34 lead into the intermission.
BC continued to dominate in the second half, its lead standing at 21 points with 13 minutes left in the game. The Rams led 74-51 at the 10:00 mark. The Rams final margin of victory was 25.
Stanley Christian paced the Rams with his second double-double of the young season. Christian had 20 points and 15 rebounds. Jermiah Jenkins topped the Bluefield scoring column with 30 points. Rob Littlejohn and Bullock had career highs at Bluefield. Littlejohn dropped in 13 points and Bullock tallied 16.
"I felt like we competed today from the very beginning," said Rams Head Coach Richard Morgan. "We were able to push the ball in transition and defended much better for most of the game. We have to rebound better than we did today, for the next game. Overall we played BC basketball."
