Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Milligan holds off Rams charge

MILLIGAN, Tenn. - Men's basketball made a valiant effort, but Milligan University used a second half run, and held off a late Rams charge to defeat Bluefield College 87-78 Tuesday night.
The teams fought back-and-forth in the opening half and the Rams led by one, 42-41 at the half. In the second half it was close until the last few minutes when Milligan pulled out to an 11-point lead. The Rams got as close as six in the final minute, but the Buffaloes pulled away in the final seconds for the final margin of victory.
Stanley Christian had his third double-double in as many games with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Jermiah Jenkins continued his torrid scoring with 22 points. Omega Stitt had a season-high 15 points with nine rebounds.
"We didn't play enough defense to get it done," said Head Coach Richard Morgan. "We had to sit Jermiah when he got in foul trouble in the first half and he is what gets us going. I thought Omega played a great game. He rebounded well and that's what we need him to do."
The Rams are back in action this weekend at The Show in Kingsport, Tenn., taking on Indiana East on Saturday.
