BLUEFIELD - The Bluefield College Rams welcomed the Brewton-Parker College Barons to the Dome and claimed a win of 25-21, 25-17, and 25-22.
Terrell Boston helped the Rams early on with a server's ace to help give a four-point lead against the Barons. Within just a few serves and passes, the Barons cut the Rams lead down to as low as one point. Throughout the match, the Rams took a few points to lead with the Barons tying it up at 18-18. The Rams claimed first set at 25-21.
The Rams started strong with set two with a three-point lead. The Barons came back from being down four points to only being down one point. The Rams added to their lead which made the score 15-10. During the match, the Rams kept increasing their lead had held at least a five-point lead between the Barons. The Rams claimed they won the second set 25-17.
Alberto Chiaparini helped get the Rams on the board in the third set and tied the match at four to four. The Rams took the lead and come back with the help of a kill from Eric Duron. With multiple passes from both teams, the teams both advanced their score to 20-17 Rams. With match point underway, the Rams claimed a victory of 25-22.
Carleek Owens had a season-high 15 kills along with 15 digs to lead Bluefield. Chiaparini also had 15 kills. Chaz Franqui had 38 assists.
