MONTREAT, N.C. - Baseball rallied to score four runs in the top of the seventh inning in game two of Saturday's doubleheader, that helped lift the Bluefield nine to victory and enable the team to gain a split in the twinbill and win the weekend AAC series over Montreat.
In the final game of the series, Bluefield took a 12-10 win, the Rams scored four times in the top of the seventh and those runs proved necessary as Montreat scored three runs in the bottom of the frame before the Rams were able to close out the game.
Jose Santana was 3-for-4 at the plate for BC as was
Joseph Cardona.
Lenyn Napoleon had a pair of hits with four RBI while
Carlos Torres,
Ozzie Millet and Napoleon all homered for Bluefield.
Spencer Ambrose, the third of three Rams pitchers, worked the final inning-and-a-third to gain the win.
In Saturday's opener the Rams fell 6-2 as Montreat scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh for the win.
Santana was 4-for-5 at the dish for Bluefield, while
Andreas Holtzer,
Edgardo Bernard and Napoleon each had a pair of hits. Holtzer homered.
In Friday's series opener the Rams came from behind with seven runs in the ninth inning to take a 14-8 win. Cody Gardere pitched the ninth inning to get the win. Steven Estep pitched seven innings and struck out nine.
Ozzie Millet had four hits and Santana had a pair of hits.
