BLUEFIELD - Baseball welcomed Piedmont International University to Bowen Field for a non-conference twinbill Tuesday and the two squads took part in a slugfest which saw the teams combine for 60 runs and 59 hits. The Rams took both games, the opener 18-7 and the nightcap 21-14.
In game one the Rams scored 18 runs on 18 hits.
Jordan Huntley was 3-for-4 and
Lenyn Napoleon 3-for-3 with four RBI.
Joseph Cardona knocked in three runs and connected for his first home run of the season.
Edgardo Bernard also knocked in three runs and
Andreas Holtzer also homered for the Rams.
Spencer Ambrose started on the mound for Bluefield, pitched six innings and got the win.
In game two
Jose Santana, named the AAC Player of the Week on Monday, was 5-for-5 with six RBI and picked up his first home run of the year. Napoleon again had three hits and Huntley opened the game with his eighth home run of the season. Erik Guzman smacked his first home run of the year.
Justin Meza, the second of three BC pitchers, got the win.
