BLUEFIELD - It was indeed a barnburner at the Dome Gymnasium, Saturday afternoon as the Rams and #18 Montreat Cavaliers on the hardwood. After 40 minutes it was tied at 63, but in the extra five minutes the visitors came away with an 80-74 win.
A hard-fough contest throughout, Montreat took a 38-31 lead into the half, but Bluefield was able to storm back and take the lead early in the second half. Neither team was able to hold the lead until the overtime period when Montreat finally grabbed the advantage and held on for the victory.
Jermiah Jenkins led the Rams with 25 points and four assists.
Niquan Cousins had a double-double for BC with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Ty'quon Reid finished with 17 points.
The Rams will observe Senior Night in their final home game of the season on Thursday, Feb. 14 against Milligan at 7:30 p.m.
