KINGSPORT, Tenn. - Men's basketball's road to a conference basketball championship was derailed Thursday night as the third-seeded Milligan Buffaloes stampeded the sixth-seeded Rams 74-65 at the Meadowview Conference and Resort Center.
The Rams ran to an early15-6 lead only to see the Buffaloes storm back and take a 19-18 lead. Milligan held a 37-33 lead at the intermission.
In the second half Milligan broke away and opened a lead that extended to 15 points, but the Rams never gave up and pulled to within eight in the closing minutes.
Niquan Cousins led the Rams with 24 points and 10 rebounds.
Jermiah Jenkins finished with 11 points.
