BLUEFIELD - In their final game before Thanksgiving, men's basketball claimed a 75-60 AAC win over St. Andrews, Wednesday night at the Dome Gymnasium.
The Rams took the early and commanding lead, going into the break ahead 37-23. The BC lead grew as high as 24 in the second half before both teams began committing fouls and St. Andrews closed the gap at one point to 11 points. In the final minutes the Rams pulled away for the final margin of victory.
Niquan Cousins had his fifth double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds., while
D'Monte Evans and
Jermiah Jenkins both added 11 points.
Brandon Shields added nine points.
Both teams shot 37 percent from the field and in a game full of fouls - 41 total, Bluefield shot 74 percent from the charity stripe compared to 52 percent for St. Andrews.
The Rams play in the NAIA DII Showcase, Friday and Saturday in Kingsport, Tenn.
