BLUEFIELD - Kianna Campbell scored 17 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to help lead women's basketball to a 62-43 AAC win over Truett McConnell, Saturday afternoon at the Dome Gymnasium.
The first period was closely contested and BC took its first lead on a baseline jumper from
Tianna Crockett at the four-minute mark. The Rams took their first lead with 2:21 to go on
Cierra Cook's layup, 14-12 and
Kendal Cloninger drained a three to give BC a 17-12 advantage. The Rams led 19-14 after one.
Cloninger's put-back to open the second gave Bluefield a seven point lead and Campbell's bucket gave BC an eight-point lead with six to play before halftime. Bluefield took a 33-26 lead into the break.
Truett McConnell picked up a four-point play to start the second half and eventually cut the Rams' lead to three. Slowly Bluefield built its lead back to eight. Cloninger's trey later gave BC an 11-point lead and the Rams went on to lead 50-37 heading into the final 10 minutes.
Morgan Wylie hit a triple to give Bluefield a 16-point lead at 53-37 with just under eight to play and the Rams went on to claim the win.
Cloninger came off the bench to drop in 12 points along with six rebounds and two assists. Cook added 11 points.
Emily Hart had six rebounds and a pair of steals.
