Box Score GRAYSON, Ky. - Tanner Griffith booted a 42-yard field goal with six second remaining to lift the Rams to a 57-54 win over Kentucky Christian University, Saturday night. The field goal was Griffith's second in 90 seconds of action. Just over a minute earlier he connected on a kick to tie the game at 54.
KCU jumped to an early 14-0 lead and led BC 35-20 at halftime. The Rams had a pair of interceptions from linebacker
Shaun Kolb and three fourth quarter BC takeaways were essential to the victory.Â
BC quarterback
Aidan Wilder finished the game with 115 yards rushing and four touchdowns. Wilder was 13-of-27 passing for another 127 yards and another score. Lowell Patron Jr, caught four passes and had a touchdown.
Defensively for the Rams
Sam Kirtley led the way with 12 tackles.
DaMarcus Wimbush had nine and
Kasean Ridgell had eight.
The win marked Bluefield's first-ever victory over Kentucky Christian. The Knightrs held a 5-0 series lead over the Rams entering the contest.
With the win the Rams are now 2-1 in the Mid-South Conference Appalachian Division and 2-5 overall. Next week is Homecoming on the BC campus and St. Andrews visits Mitchell Stadium for a 6 p.m. kickoff of Nov. 2.
