BLUEFIELD - The Bluefield College Rams went up against the Milligan College Buffaloes and fell in three sets 25-16, 25-16, and 25-21.
After a couple of lead changes, the Rams took a 5-3 lead that shortly turned back into the Buffaloes taking lead at 6-5 then again at 9-8. The Rams and the Buffaloes both took turns tying the set until the Buffaloes took a four-point lead at 14-10. The Buffaloes increased their lead to 18-11. The Rams decreased the Buffaloes lead by two but then Milligan came back and scored even more to make it 23-16. The Rams lost set one 25-16.
To start the second set, the Rams took the lead, but the Buffaloes came back, tied, and took the lead at 7-2. Milligan continued to increase their lead to 11-5, a six-point lead. The Buffaloes increased their lead up to ten which made score 20-10. The Rams increased their score by five bringing the score 20-15. The Buffaloes took set two 25- 16.
The Rams took a 3-1 lead to start the third set off. The Rams continued to increase their lead to 8-4, the largest lead for the Rams thus far. The Milligan Buffaloes came back to tie the set at nines then took lead at 10-9. The Buffaloes continued the lead to 16-12 with the Rams on a comeback scoring three more decreasing Milligan's lead to only one. BC came back and tied at 17-17 then took lead to 20-17 with the Buffaloes tying and then taking lead at 22-20. The Rams lost set three 25-21 and dropped the match. The loss snapped BC's three-match winning streak.
