WALESKA, Ga. – No. 20 Reinhardt scored on its first five possessions of the game and went on to defeat Bluefield College 45-14 Saturday night in Mid-South Conference Appalachian Division football action.
The Eagles took the 35-0 lead into halftime, but the Rams got on the board with their first possession of the second half when
Xavier Freeman scampered 35 yards for BC's first score of the night.
Tanner Griffith booted the extra point.
Reinhardt answered on the next possession to make it 42-7.
The Rams scored with 13:17 left in the game when
Jaquan Ebron hauled in a three-yard pass from
Aidan Wilder. Griffith's PAT was true.
Reinhardt added a late field goal to round out the scoring.
Freeman carried the ball 21 times for 80 yards while Wilder completed 13-of-27 passes for 126 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
Greg Ebron caught six passes for 82 yards.
DaMarcus Wimbush was the Ram's leading tackler with eight stops.
Reinhardt had 457 yards of total offense compared to 207 for Bluefield.
The loss was BC's first in Mid-South Appalachian Division play in which the Rams are now 1-1. They are 1-5 overall. Reinhardt is 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the division.
The Rams are idle next week and travel to Kentucky Christian on Oct. 26.
