LEBANON, Tenn. - Chaz Franqui needed recorded his 500th career assist and added a few more Saturday morning against the Fontbonne (Mo.) Griffins, but the Rams dropped a three-set match in their final outing in the Off The Block Grow The Game Challenge at Cumberland University 25-15, 25-15, 25-21.
Franqui entered the match needing 13 assists to reach the 500 milestone, he finished the game with 23 and also had six digs. He is the all-time assist leader in BC program history.
Alberto Chiaparini had 12 kills.
The Rams finished the two-day event splitting a pair of matches as they defeated host Cumberland (Tenn.), Friday night.
The squad is back in action Friday as they take part in the inaugural NCCAA invitational in Palo Heights, Illinois, hosted by Trinity Christian College.
