CLEVES, Ohio – What a difference a week makes. Seven days after falling at home to Keiser University, the Bluefield College Rams football team took to the road and bounced back in grand fashion, defeating the Cincinnati Christian University Eagles 45-7.
The game was moved to Taylor High School due to heavy rain in the Cincinnati area on Friday that left CCU's regular home field underwater.
Cason Whitt tossed four touchdown passes and ran for another score to lead the BC offense. Whitt threw two TD strikes
Charles Black and one to
Quincy Mock and
Antonio Strickland.
Whitt finished the night completing 15-of-24 passes for 205 yards.
Malik Brown rushed for 161 yards including a 71-yard jaunt.
Jeff Hughes ran 45 yards for a score just before halftime that gave the Rams a 26-7 lead at the break and gave the Rams the needed momentum that carried the team to victory number two on the season.
Defensively the Rams defense rebounded from its performance against Keiser, holding CCU to one score in the contest.
Michael Everett had 11 tackles and
Shaun Kolb had 10.
Daequan Black finished with six stops and
Tyrice Henry had an interception.
The Rams travel to Florida next week to take on Webber International.
