Box Score BLUEFIELD - In the final regular-season game of the year, the Rams topped Bluefield State 7-5 to take bragging rights and claim the Battle of the Bluefields, Sunday afternoon at Bowen Field.
The Rams opened a 7-0 lead through the first five innings only to see the Big Blues score five runs in the final four innings to close to within two runs and have the game-winning run at the plate in the top of the ninth inning.
Jose Perez led BC at the plate as he was 3-for-5. Josh Magee and Jordan Jackson were both 2-for-4 and Jackson had a homer with three RBIs.
The Rams finished the regular season with a 24-21 record and play next in the NCCAA Mid-East Regional at Hiwassee College.
Bluefield State finished the season with a 17-20 record.
