Box Score 2 BLUEFIELD - Freshman pitcher
Alex Perkins tossed a nine-inning complete game to lead Bluefield College to victory in game one of its doubleheader Sunday afternoon at Bowen Field against the Milligan College Buffaloes. MC took game two, but the Rams claimed the weekend series from their Appalachian Athletic Conference rival.
GAME 1
Perkins earned his first collegiate complete game victory as he worked all nine innings to get the win. The Christiansburg High School graduate struck out nine and allowed only three runs in the 7-3 Bluefield win. Helping the Rams cause at the plate was
Jose Perez who was 4-for-4.
Joshua Magee hit his ninth home run of the season and knocked in five runs.
Baley Castro and
Jordan Ackerman each had two hits.
GAME 2
Milligan took the final game of the series 10-8. The Buffaloes opened a 6-0 lead after their first three at-bats, but the Rams put five on the board in the third inning.
Austin Browning was 3-for-3 with a home run and knocked in five runs.
Oscar Torres was 2-for-4.
UP NEXT
The Rams are now 11-7 overall and 2-7 in the AAC. They return to the diamond on Tuesday, March 20 at Hiwassee in a non-conference doubleheader against the Tigers.
