Box Score 2 MOCKSVILLE, N.C. - Baseball completed its season-opening series sweep of Piedmont International University with a doubleheader sweep of the Bruins, 9-5 and 29-5.
In game one the Rams came from behind with five runs in the sixth inning to gain the win.
Jose Perez led BC at the plate going 4-for-5 as the Rams collected nine hits as a team.
Peyton Tennant started on the mound for BC and
Edgar Reyes got the win in relief as he worked three innings. Both Tennant and Reyes recorded five strikeouts.
In the nightcap the Rams unleased the power and scored 29 runs, including 12 in the third and 11 in the fifth innings to record the 29-5 win.
The power onslaught saw Bluefield blast seven home runs, led by
Marcus Espinal with two round trippers, including a grand slam. Espinal finished the game with seven RBIs. Josh Magee also knocked two out of the park and was 5-for-5 in game two.
Oscar Torres,
Jordan Ackerman and
Austin Browning also homered for the Rams.
Nathan Cutler claimed the win on the mound for Bluefield.

The Rams (3-0) travel to Jacksonville, Fla., Feb. 10-11 to take on Edward Waters College in a pair of doubleheaders.
