Box Score BLUEFIELD - Baseball concluded its first home series of the season by defeating Ohio Christian 14-4, Saturday afternoon at Bowen Field, completing a three-game sweep of the Trailblazers. The game ended in the seventh inning due to the 10-run mercy rule. In the three game series Bluefield out-scored OCU 43-17.
BC jumped ahead 5-0 after scoring two in the first and three more in the second. The Blazers pulled within one at 5--4 in the fourth, but int he bottom of the fourth
Nick Meadows hit the first pitch of the inning over the wall in left for his first collegiate home run. The Rams added for more in the sixth, and four in the seventh to end the game in walk-off fashion.
Baley Castro and
Jose Perez each had three hits for the Rams, while
Austin Browning and
Oscar Torres had two apiece. Browning knocked in five runs while Perez had three RBIs.
Jackson Keene started on the mound and got the win for the Rams.
Edgar Reyes worked teh final three innings to pick up the save.
Bluefield is now 9-1 on the season and returns to the diamond on Wednesday for a twinbill at Alice Lloyd College in Pippa Passes, Ky.
