Box Score 2 BLUEFIELD - Baseball scored scored 39 runs and pounded out 35 hits in Friday night's doubleheader sweep of Ohio Christian University at Bowen Field. With the wins the Rams improved to 8-1 on the season.
GAME 1
OCU scored three times in the top of the first, but the Rams answered with four in each the first and second innings and 14 in the third inning to seal the victory.
Baley Castro led the way with four hits.
Joshua Magee had three, while
Oscar Torres,
Jordan Jackson,
Nick Meadows and
Jordan Ackerman had two hits apiece. Castro, Torres,
Marcus Espinal, and Magee all homered for the Rams., while
Nick Meadows had a double and a triple.
Caleb Newman, the middle of three Bluefield pitchers, worked three innings and gained the win.
GAME 2
In the nightcap the Rams exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the second and never looked back.
Jose Perez was 4-for-4, and Torres was 3-for-3. Castro and Espinal had two hits apiece.
Kyle Harris started on the mound for the Rams and got the victory as he worked the first three frames and allowed one run and struck out four.Â
