Bulldogs bite women's basketball

BLUEFIELD - In the final game of calendar year 2018, women's basketball dropped a hard-fought 63-60 AAC contest Saturday afternoon at the Dome Gymnasium to Tennessee Wesleyan.
Courtney Kendrick set the pace early for BC as she scored the first seven points for the Rams. TWU tied the game at 16 and later pulled ahead by five in the final 90 seconds of the first half. Bluefield was plagued by foul trouble in the first half as three Ram starters had to sit with three personal foulds.
In the third quarter BC closed to within a point but midway through the stanza the visiting Bulldogs pulled back ahead by eight. The Rams charged back to within two and it was a four-point game, 48-44 as the fourth quarter began.
The teams battled the final 10 minutes, but in the end Tennessee Wesleyan claimed the win.
Danae Cox led the Rams with 22 points and had seven rebounds. Kendrick finished with 10 points and nine boards.
TWU's Hunter Simpson had 22 points with 11 rebounds.
