BLUEFIELD - The Rams welcomed the Lady Koalas from Columbia College to the Dome Gymnasium for the AAC opener and claimed a 59-45 victory.
Danae Cox started the game  with a three- pointer to start the score for the Rams. During the period both teams fought hard exchanging shots back and forth and at the end of the first, the Rams led 14-13.
To start the second quarter, the Rams scored making the score 16-13. The Lady Koalas made a three-pointer making the score 16-16. The Rams took the biggest lead of four points making the score of 22-16 with 3:50 left in the second. With the Lady Koalas bringing the score to 22-18, the Rams then extend their lead to 27-18 with a minute remaining in the half. The Lady Rams went out to their biggest lead of the half at 29-19. The score was 29-22 at halftime.
The Rams grew their lead to 36-22 and extended it to 50-32. At the end of the third, the Rams continued to hold the lead, 50-32.
The Lady Koalas made the first five points of the fourth making the score 50-38.
Courtney Kendrick was the Rams' leading scorer with 10 points and Danae Cox and Ayanna Strother both had nine points. Kierra Bell-Linnear led BC with 12 rebounds.
