Box Score 3 CLEVELAND, Ga. – The Bluefield College baseball team reached the .500 mark on the season, winning two of three games against Truett-McConnell College over the weekend in the Peach State.
Saturday afternoon the Rams took a doubleheader from TMC before the Bears won the final game of the series Sunday afternoon.
BC claimed the series opener 3-1 behind a four-hit pitching performance from Thomas Huddleston. Huddleston tossed the complete game victory, allowing one run one walk and picking up seven strikeouts.
The Rams were held to four hits also in the contest and Nolan Soto had two, including two RBIs.
In Saturday's nightcap Jordan Ackerman, Garrett Schilling and Matt Ferreira each had a pair of hits to lead Bluefield to a 4-2 win. Schilling knocked in two runs while Soto and Ferreira each doubled.
Dylan Ruth picked up the win and Mike Tinucci earned the save.
Truett-McConnell took the series finale Sunday afternoon 7-2. Erik Williams, Eddie Torres and Schilling each had two hits, but TMC banged out 12 hits against BC pitchers to take the victory. Chaz Miller, the starter and first of four Bluefield pitchers, suffered the loss.
The Rams are now 20-20 overall and 5-10 in the AAC. The Rams are back on the diamond, Tuesday at Alice Lloyd in non-conference action.
