LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Bluefield College Rams opened the 2016 baseball season with an 11-1 loss Friday afternoon to Warner University at Royals Field.

Bluefield's lone run came in the top of the fifth inning when Jordan Ackerman drew a bases loaded walk.

Thomas Huddleston, the first of four BC pitchers, was dealt the loss. Bluefield pitchers struck out nine Warner hitters in the contest and allowed 17 hits. Warner's Jordan Pike was the winning pitcher.

The Rams return to the diamond, Saturday, Feb. 6 in doubleheader action at Webber International University in Babson Park, Fla. BC and Warner wrap up the three-game series with a single game on Sunday, Feb. 7.
