Box Score 2 MOORESVILLE, N.C. – The Bluefield College baseball teams picked up a pair of wins Saturday afternoon, defeating the University of St. Francis (Indiana) Cougars in a doubleheader at Moor Park 8-6 and 6-0.
In the opener the Rams brought out the bats. Ryan Lawson homered and had three RBIS, while Nolan Soto, Pat Gough and Erik Williams were all 2-for-3 with a double. Soto knocked in two runs, Gough brought home three. Zac Tapia got the win for the Rams in relief, as he pitched two innings of one run ball. Daniel Ruiz picked up the save as he pitched the seventh inning.
Game two belonged to the Rams' Thomas Huddleston. Huddleston tossed a complete game shutout and along the way he struck out 12 and allowed only four hits.
Williams was 2-for-2 with a homer and two RBIs. Matt Ferreira was 2-for-3 with a home run and two runs batted in.
The teams complete their four-game series in Mooresville, Sunday afternoon with a doubleheader beginning at 1:00.
