Box Score 2 BLUEFIELD, Va. - The Bluefield College women's volleyball team had the brooms out Saturday as they swept past AAC foes Reinhardt and Allen in a tri-match at the Dome Gymnasium.
The Rams overpowered Reinhardt University, taking the AAC competition in just three sets (25-14, 25-19, 25-21).
Lexie Mocarski led the Rams attack with 19 kills. Ellen Johnson followed up with 13 kills of her own. Camry McCroskey gathered 43 assists. Ashlyn VanDyke contained the Eagles offense with 18 digs, while McCroskey, Johnson, and Mocarski each had over 10 assists.
BC improved to 19-16 overall, and 9-11 within the AAC.
In their second match of the day, Bluefield took care of Allen University in just three sets.
BC continued their strong weekend play, as they did not lose a set on the day. They lost only one of the ten sets played over the weekend, having beaten John Wesley 3-1 on Friday night.
It was a team effort offensively as the Rams made quick work of the Yellow Jackets. Lexie Mocarski led with nine kills, Ellen Johnson had eight, Kaitlyn Shaver had seven, and Camry McCroskey pitched in with six. Four different Rams had at least 10 digs, led by Hannah Tatum and Lexie Mocarski.
The Rams head into the final week of action before the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament which begins Nov. 10.
