Box Score MONTREAT, N.C. - Abel Bogale scored in the 97th minute to lift the Bluefield College Rams past the Montreat Cavaliers in the regular-season finale, Saturday, Oct. 29. With the win the Rams secured fourth place in the Appalachian Athletic Conference standings.
Montreat carried a 1-0 lead into the intermission thanks to a goal by Raphael Duarte in the 19th minute. Bluefield goals by Jean-Emmanuel Ahouman and Andre Cedric Zibi in the 51st and 53rd minutes put the Rams on top. Duarte's goal in the 88th minute tied the game, forcing overtime.
Bogale's goal in the extra period came off an assist from Ahouman and gave BC the win.
The Rams finished the regular season with a 10-6-2 record, 4-4-2 in AAC play. BC will host an AAC tournament quarterfinal match, Saturday, Nov. 5 at 2:30 p.m. at the East River Soccer Complex against a yet to be determined opponent.
