Box Score WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - Alex Martin ran 58 yards for a score on the game's second play but the homestanding University of the Cumberlands pulled away in the second and third periods to gain a 28-13 Mid-South Conference win, Saturday, Oct. 29.
Martin finished the day with 136 yards rushing and pushed his season total to 825. Cason Whitt completed 12-of-29 passes for 151 yards. Braxton Knotts caught six of those passes for 73 yards and ran for another 60 yards in the game.
Carlton Toussaint had a team-high 12 tackles. Khaliyl Thompson had a sack and Tyrice Henry picked off a Cumberlands pass.
Bluefield 1-8, (1-3 MSC) returns home to face Union next Saturday, Nov. 5. It will be Senior Night and Veterans Appreciation Night as all veterans will be admitted for free.
