BLUEFIELD, W.Va. - Heartbreaking. That word can be used to describe the Bluefield College men's soccer team's 2-0 loss to the Reinhardt University Eagles in an Appalachian Athletic Conference contest, Saturday afternoon at a soggy East River Soccer Complex.
After winning three straight games to even its record at 3-3, the Rams have lost their last two matches, by one and two goals respectively. Reinhardt struck first in the game's 21st minute on a goal from Matthew Gray. The game remained 1-nil and tightly contested until the 78th minute when Alan Barikos got the contest's only other score.
Bluefield had five goal shots in the game and Reinhardt keeper Torge Wiedenroth had a pair of saves. Bluefield's
Oscar Hernandez also had a pair of saves.
Bluefield dropped to 3-5 in all games and 0-2 in the AAC. The Rams welcome Tennessee Wesleyan to the East River complex, Tuesday. Reinhardt improved to 4-4 in overall and 2-0 in conference play.
