BLUEFIELD, Va. – Congratulations to Bluefield College running back Adrian Pope. Pope is the latest Mid-South Conference Offensive Player of the Week, named Monday by a vote of MSC officials for his performance Saturday against No. 10 Faulkner.

Pope rushed for 213 yards on 15 carries amd scored three touchdowns at Mitchell Stadium against the Eagles. His 213 yards are a career high and are the most by a running back this season in the Mid-South. His TD runs of 63, 65 and 28 yards came before he left the game with an injury in the second half. He is the third player in the MSC to score three touchdowns in a game this season.

The junior from Hampton, Va., is tied for third in the conference and 16th in the NAIA averaging 104 rushing yards per game. It is the first player of the week honor for Pope.

The Conference Defensive Player of the Week is Faulkner's Caleb Taylor, a senior linebacker also from Hampton, Va. Taylor had 20 tackles against Bluefield, with five sacks and six tackles for loss. Faulkner's Hunter Kennamer, senior from Guntersville, Ala., is the Special Teams Player of the Week. He was 4-for-4 on field goals and made all five extra point attempts against Bluefield. He also averaged 37.3 yards on three punts.
