HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- The inaugural season of Bluefield College men's volleyball came to a conclusion on Saturday, with the Rams dropping matches against Coker College and Warner University in straight sets. Tri-match hosts Coker won 25-23, 25-23, 25-8 while Warner won 25-14, 25-16, 25-13.
The losses close the Rams's season at 3-20. Coker split on the day to move its record to 8-16, while Warner is 15-8 taking its contests against both Bluefield and Coker.
Daniel Williams led Bluefield's attack in both games, logging six and five kills. Gianesin also logged five kills against Warner.
Isaiah Williams had 11 and 15 assists in the two matches.
Bluefield didn't produce its usual numbers at the net, as they registered just six total team blocks against Coker and only four against Warner.
Daniel Griffin led the Rams with five digs in the day's opener against Coker, while Gianesin led the Rams with seven digs in the season finale.
The Rams were not able to register a hitting percentage above .200 during either match, with their best being a .192 attack in set two against Warner.
The weekend served as Head Coach
Jim Butski's final weekend with the program, having announced his
resignation last week. The search for the new head men's and women's volleyball coach is already underway.
