MARSHALL, Mo -- A pair of defeats closed the Bluefield College men's volleyball team's final day at the Viking Invitational, with the Rams losing to No. 9 Robert Morris College (
13-25, 20-25, 11-25) and to St. Xavier University (25-21, 19-25, 19-25, 16-25).
Bluefield moves to 3-10 on the year with the two losses.Connor Holland once again led Bluefield with six kills in the opening match, but sprained his ankle late in the match and did not play in the weekend finale.
Isaiah Williams added five kills to go along with his 15 assists.
In the weekend's final match,
David Gianesin recorded a season-best 12 kills.
Isaiah Williams added 21 assists and five block assists.
Matt Epperson logged three aces.
The Rams came out hot with 10 kills in the first set, taking a 1-0 lead with a 25-21 victory. However, St. Xavier held off the Rams in the next three.
Bluefield is slated to return to action on March 3, when they host Milligan college at 6:30 p.m.
