Box Score BLUEFIELD, W.Va. - Time was not on the side of the Bluefield Rams men's soccer team Saturday evening as a nearly game-long 1-nil lead was lost in the final three minutes and the visiting Truett-McConnell Bears scored in the sixth minute of the second overtime period to claim a 2-1 Appalachian Athletic Conference win at the East River Soccer Complex.
Bluefield took the lead in the game's 23rd minute when Jean-Emmanuel Ahouman scored. Jan Breitensmoser provided the assist. The score stayed 1-0 until the 87th minute when TMC's Kakoma Penzi scored an unassisted goal to tie the match at one. Both teamss pressed in the final three minutes in an attempt to avoid overtime, but neither could find the back of the net.
In the extra period, in the 103rd minute of the game Josiah Saydee scored, bringing an end to the match and giving the visitors from the Peach State a 2-1 victory.
Bluefield out-shot Truett 17-14 in the match and in the exttra periods both teams had three shots. All of Bluefield's came in the first overtime and two of Truett's three came in the second. BC keeper Oscar Hernandez had  five saves on the night.
Bluefield, now 4-10 overall and 0-7 in the AAC, hosts Montreat, Wednesday evening.
