The Bluefield College softball team dropped all four of its Mid-South Conference road contests this weekend, falling to No. 9 Lindsey Wilson College, 13-0 and 13-1, on Friday and to Cumberland University, 17-1 and 8-0, on Saturday.

Five different Lady Rams tallied hits in the opener against LWC, but they could not manufacture a run. The Blue Raiders, on the other hand, hammered out 11 hits, scoring 13 runs. However, only five of those runs were earned as BC committed four errors in the leadoff game of the weekend road trip.

In game two, BC was held to just one hit, but Morgan Stephens made it count, as she sent a solo home run over the left field fence on an 0-2 count in the top of the fifth inning. The Blue Raiders had continued with the hot bats in game two, though, once again scoring 13 runs on 11 hits for the five-inning victory. LWC's Jordan Hood tallied 11 strikeouts to lead the Blue Raiders to victory.

BC only tallied one hit in the leadoff game against Cumberland, but Ciera Conkle had reached base earlier in the inning and was advanced to second ona  sacrifice bunt. Brienna Sparks' single scored the Lady Rams' sole run, as the hosts took the 17-1 win. The Bulldogs used a 7-run first inning to open up the game.

In the weekend finale, Cumberland once again held BC to one hit, with Sparks tallying her second single of the day in the top of the second. Cumberland tallied eight runs on eight hits, once again taking the win in five innings.

Bluefield is on the road once again on Monday, travelling to face University of Pikeville. The doubleheader is set to begin at 2 p.m.
