BLUEFIELD, Va. --Â Bluefield College's men's tennis team picked up a pair of singles wins, but Concord University claimed the 7-2 win on Monday afternoon at the Bluefield City Courts.
The Mountain Lions swept through doubles play with a trio of 8-2 wins.
In singles play, BC had a pair of close defeats, but the visitors claimed four of the matches to take the overall win.
In the No. 5 matchup,
Borja Jimenez notched a 6-2, 7-5 win over Shane Khanlarian, while
James Gunn took a three-set victory over Bill Wright, 2-6, 6-4, 6-1.
Markel Aramberri had another close match in the lead singles contest, as Concord's Diogo Monteiro came away with the 5-7, 6-3, 10-8 victory.
Carlton Tugman battled in the No. 3 slot, but fell by a score of 6-4, 6-3 to Danny Fonrondona.
Bluefield is slated to take on Emory & Henry at home on Wednesday.
