GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Bluefield College softball team was edged 3-1 in game one against Georgetown College on Tuesday before the host Tigers took an 8-0 win in the second game of the doubleheader.

Brienna Sparks struck out six in her six innings of work, allowing six hits and three runs to the Tigers. However, Georgetown used a pair of pitchers to hold BC to one run on four hits in game one.

Kattie Evans went 2-for-3 as the leadoff hitter, supplying the Lady Rams' sole RBI.

Shelby Engle drove in two for GC in the first inning on a one-out double.

In game two, the Lady Rams were held hitless by a pair of GC pitchers.

The Tigers used three runs in the third and five runs in the fifth to take the 8-0 win.

BC committed six errors in the second game, making only four of the eight runs scored on starting pitcher

Bluefield hosts a pair of Mid-South Conference opponents this weekend, playing Shawnee State University at 2 p.m. on Friday and University of Rio Grande at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
