GREENVILLE, S.C. – Five members of the Bluefield College football team earned National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) honors on Monday, being selected to the 2014 All-NCCAA Football team.
 
Running back Sam Bennett, offensive lineman Jedidiah Halla and defensive back Carlton Toussaint led the way as first team selections. Linebacker Harry Casseus collected second team honors, while punter Daniel Griffin was named as an honorable mention.
 
The Rams were one of five programs to place at least four student-athletes on the first and second teams, with 2014 Victory Bowl Champions North Greenville leading all programs with six selections.
 
Bennett's 883 rushing yards ranked second in the NCCAA, while his 80.3 yards per game was third-best. The junior scored 10 touchdowns on the season.
 
Halla provided leadership on the Rams' youthful offensive line, being just a redshirt sophomore himself. The Rams' run game compiled 3187 yards on the ground, tops in the NCCAA for 2014.
 
Freshman Toussaint had six interceptions on the season, which ranked second-best in the NCCAA.
 
Casseus collected second team honors with a team-best 80 tackles on the year, with his 7.3 tackles per game tying him 19^th in the NCCAA. The Orlando, Fla., native had 14.5 tackles for loss, the third-best mark in the league. He had five sacks on the year.
 
Griffin earned honorable mention recognition behind a 39.2 yards per punt average this season, third-best in the NCCAA. The junior compiled 1528 yards on 39 attempts.
 
The Rams finished the 2014 campaign 10^th in the NCCAA based on the league's Massey Rating following its 3-8 season.
