Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Rams' season closes at NCCAA National Championships

KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- The Bluefield College men's soccer season came to a close on Tuesday evening, as the Rams dropped their second pool play game in the 2014 NCCAA National Championships, to Bethel College (Ind.). Bluefield fell in its opening pool play game Monday evening to Shorter University, and will not have the opportunity to advance to semifinal play.

Bluefield closes its season with a 12-10-1 mark, the first time being over .500 at year's end according to records dating back to 2006.

In a similar fashion to Bluefield's matchup against Shorter, the Rams trailed 2-0 at the half. The Pilots notched goals in the 16th and 44th minutes to take the 2-0 lead at the break. Their first goal of the game came on a penalty kick.

Bethel continued its offensive attack in the second half before Matt Jones' 76' goal made it 4-1. But, Bethel found the back of the net two more times for the 6-1 final.

Oscar Hernandez tallied 12 saves, one off his season high. Senior keeper Jefferson Watson logged four final minutes between the posts for his BC career. Isaac Lindahl tallied three saves for the Pilots.
