WALESKA, Ga. -- Playing without leading attacker
Jasmine Morrow, the Bluefield College Volleyball team was swept by Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent Reinhardt University, Friday evening, 19-25, 16-25, 10-25.
Amber Taylor-Inge led the team with nine kills on 14 attacks with just one error, posting a game-high .571 hitting percentage. Freshman
Ellen Johnson followed with five kills, while fellow freshman
Lexie Austin tallied four kills on 15 attempts for the team's second best attack percentage (.267). Marrisa Grice and
Channel Flores tallied 12 and eight assists, respectively.
Lexie Mocarski led BC's defensive efforts with eight digs, followed by six from both
Carly Whitham and Johnson. Bluefield, who has averaged more than two blocks per game this season had just two for the entire match, Friday.
Bluefield picks back up against Bryan College, Saturday morning at 11 a.m. The Lions received votes in the latest NAIA Coaches' Poll. Live video and stats are scheduled to be available for the match.
