PORTSMOUTH, Ohio -- A goal in each half for the Bluefield College women's soccer team lead the Lady Rams to a 2-0 win over former Mid-South Conference foe Shawnee State, Tuesday afternoon, as the team begins to find its stride with the season winding down.

The sophomore dribbled across the box, found space to make a quick turn and sent the ball to the back of the net in the 22nd minute.

At the end of the first half, BC held a 4-3 advantage in shots. All four attempts were on frame, while none of the host's three shots were on target.

Bluefield added several shots late in the game, but more importantly held Shawnee to no attempts over the final 14 minutes of play to secure the 2-0 shutout.

"Tonight's game was a really nice team effort," remarked second-year head coach Tom Price. "Brandi played great in goal, the back four did a great job and it was a nice effort from all the girls. We feel really good about our game right now. We're turning things around and looking to build momentum going into November. We're pretty excited."
