Tennis vs. UVa.-Wise
ITA Draws
BLUEFIELD, Va. – The Bluefield College men's and women's tennis teams recently began their fall slate of both matches and tournaments.

Both the men's and women's team's began play on Sept. 16, with an away match against UVa.-Wise. The men's team fell by a score of 2-7, as newcomer
Markel Aramberri picked up a singles win at No. 2 and also teamed with
Lochlan Kitchen for a doubles win in the No. 1 position. The women's team dropped their match 1-8, with
Rebecca Havens grabbing a three-set win in the No. 5 slot. Havens came from behind with scores of 4-6, 6-1, 10-3 for the win.

This past weekend, members of the men's team trekked to Georgetown, Ky., to compete in the ITA Regionals. Kitchen and Aramberri turned in another doubles victory in the event, while Aramberri also claimed a singles win in the highly competitive tournament. It is the first time BC has picked up victories in the ITA event.
Carlton Tugman and
Wesley Carter also competed in the tournament for the Rams.

Most recently, both the men's and women's teams made the short trip to take on Concord. The women's squad picked up a 5-4 victory, led by wins from Havens,
Sierra Queen, Kalyn Dolan and
Alison Morgan in singles, while
Casey Germain and Morgan won their doubles match.

The men lost a close battle, 4-5. Kitchen, Carter and
Ryan French all won singles contests, while Carter and French teamed for doubles win.

Both teams continue fall action on Oct. 6 against Bluefield State and Oct. 9 in Charlotte, N.C., against Queens.

The men will also compete in two more tournaments, being the Elon Invitational (Oct. 25-26) and the Winthrop invitational (Nov. 1-2).
