Kevin Bowers

    Kevin Bowers joined the Bluefield College tennis programs during the fall of 2011 as an assistant coach and became head tennis coach in 2016.
    At BC Bowers helped lead the men and women's teams to the NCCAA National Tournament in 2018, a first for the programs.
    A graduate of Graham High in Bluefield, Va., Bowers was previously head coach of the GHS girls team where helped the G-Girls to two Mountain Empire District titles as a team. He also had his No. 1 single and No. 1 doubles team win Region C and advance to the semifinals of the Virginia "A" state tournament.
    Bowers’ coaching experience stretches back to the early 1990s, and includes stints as a staff coach at the 4 Star Tennis Academy and as a volunteer coach at Radford High School.
     He has also served as an assistant tennis professional, doing so at Blacksburg Country Club and Kiawah Island Resort in South Carolina.
     After a standout career at Graham High School, Bowers was a four-year letterwinner at Radford University. There, Bowers held a .685 winning percentage in singles and a .725 winning percentage in doubles. He earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education with a concentration in commercial fitness, being a certified personal trainer.
    He also competed extensively in state and USTA Mid-Atlantic events, and achieved No. 1 rankings at the state and regional levels in 1990 and 1991.
