  • Current Role: Defensive Coordinator at Bluefield University

    • Offensive Line/Run Game Coordinator, Bluefield University
    • Defensive Coordinator, Hampton University: Led defense to 3rd in MEAC in scoring defense (19.2 PPG), 1st in red zone defense (60.6%), and 10th in the nation overall
    • Head Coach, Guilford College (1991-2004):
      • Guided the program to its only conference championships
      • Produced six All-Americans and 67 All-Conference players
      • Two-time ODAC Coach of the Year
    • Director of Athletics, Guilford College (1996-2002)
    • Defensive Coordinator, Guilford College (three seasons): Also served as strength and conditioning coach and recruiting coordinator
    • Assistant Coach, Carson-Newman College:
      • Offensive Line Coach (1985-1986)
      • Defensive Line Coach (1987)
      • Part of teams that won the 1986 national championship and were runners-up in 1987
    • Graduate Assistant, University of Florida (1983-1984):

Playing Career

  • Guilford College:
    • Started at center, guard, and nose guard
    • Team MVP (Defensive Player) as a senior

Personal Life

Michael Ketchum is a Greensboro, N.C., native who has been married to his wife, Belinda, for 47 years. They have two adult children, Matthew and Lillian. In his free time, Ketchum enjoys fishing and remains active in the coaching community as a member of the American Football Coaches Association.
