Gunderson High School: Three-year member of the baseball and soccer teams … defensive player of the year his sophomore year in baseball … first team All-League as a junior and senior … during his senior year he became the school’s new record holder for number of triples in a season (9) and also set a new record for highest batting average (.576).
 
Previous Experience: Two years of baseball at De Anza Community College, where he received second team All-League honors while leading the league in saves and ERA.
