Anderson AAC Player of the Week
BLUEFIELD, Va. – Bluefield College’s Brandi Anderson is the Appalachian Athletic Conference Women’s Defensive Soccer Player of the Week. Anderson was selected by league for her outstanding performances in a pair of games last week.
The sophomore from Blue Ridge, Va. Recorded 17 saves in helping Bluefield to a 1-0-1 record. She had 12 saves against Truett-McConnell in a 1-1 draw. For the year she has 40 saves to go with a 0.83 goals-against average.
“Brandi has been playing really well lately,” said BC head coach Tom Price. “It’s great that she is being recognized by the conference. She’s come up with some really big saves in key moments for us, allowing us an opportunity to stay in some matches and has done a great job and is playing with a lot of confidence right now. I know she’s excited about wrapping up the regular season and headinginto the tournament playing really well.”
The Rams are 4-4-4 on the season, 2-2-3 in AAC play and currently in fifth place. The team hosts Montreat, Wednesday at the East River Soccer Complex before finishing the season on the road with games at Point and Columbia College.
