About Bowen Field

The Rams compete at Bowen Field, which is also the home of Major League Baseball's Toronto Blue Jays affiliate--the Bluefield Blue Jays. It is located in the Bluefield City Park, which straddles the West Virginia-Virginia state line and also features the Bluefield City Courts, and Mitchell Stadium, as well as a picnic area, basketball courts, a playground and hiking trails. While Mitchell Stadium is located in West Virginia, Bowen Field sits in Virginia.

The facility was completed in 1939, being dedicated on May 11, 1939. The facility was originally a wooden structure, but a fire in the early 1970s leveled the grandstands and only left an office building standing. It was rebuilt soon thereafter, this time with the concrete grandstands that are still in place today.

The field has received additional upgrades through the years, with more than $3 million going into the facility since 1989. A recent addition includes a batting facility with indoor cages and weight lifting equipment.
